Ok, I'm going to say it... Marcus Bignot doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing. The guy is useless. And we've allowed him to hand out long term contract to novice professionals like they are going out of fashion. He's totally out of his depth, non league manager a squad of non-league players guess where we are heading I honestly think Luton might hammer us today. If we play like we did the last 3 games we could be embarrassed. I think the chances of Luton being as dreadful as Notts County are very slim to non-existent. Today's team? (2-7-1) ... -------------------------------- McKeown -------------------------------- -------------------------- Gunning ---- Collins -------------------------- Yussuf - Osborne - S.Jones - Comley - Clements - Maxwell - Andrew --------------------------------- Assante ---------------------------------

He is beginning to grate. His biggest problem is that he tries so hard to say what the fans want to hear without ever having any intention of backing it up. Hence we get Omar is going nowhere and other such utterances when its perfectly obvious to all of us that he'll go if the offer is right and furthermore its what most of us expected when he signed.
Secondly, signings. It would be nice to have at least a couple of experienced league players to help the ex part timers adjust. They may well be good enough and there may be another Bogle in there but they need to be guided otherwise we look like a non league side playing in the league. Is he being as honest with the players as he'd have us believe or does he say things to them to provoke some sort of reaction. It half worked with McKeown except he got a reaction I don't think he was expecting.
I think 45 points will keep us up so he's basically got the rest of the season to get 6 points. Neither he nor the club would survive another relegation to non league.

To be fair to Bignot yesterday was a massive improvement- maybe we'll be a better "team" without Bogle? But one swallow doesn't make a summer.
I don't know where he unearthed that goalkeeper from? But his decision making was spot on. And further more his decisions were based on doing the right thing for the team rather than being influenced by making himself look better and making saves "for the camera".
I still don't like the formation & Gunning seems to take too many chances and you know his luck will run out at some point.
Personally I think we are still in the play-off hunt. But purely because it's so tight and nobody seems capable of putting a decent run together.
We have on paper 2 of the easiest away games up next. Crewe are 21st (only score 14 in 14 home games) and Newport are 24th (only 10 points from 13 home games). We should 100%, without question, be targeting 6 points from these games.
I have taken the decision to stop listening to Bignot interviews. His attitude isn't quite so grating when you only read a transcript of his drivel.

Away from first team matters but on the subject of Bignot- I like what he had to say about developing a decent youth/development structure towards the end of his pre-match interview on the os.

The problem is that the best youngsters are snapped up before they are anywhere near old enough to play in the first team. I'm thinking of that 15 year old we flogged to Hull City. And Mansfield have a former Town youth player who went to Fulham. I'm all for planning for the future as long as we also look after the present while we are doing it.
