I know it's only 6 league games in, but I'm far from convinced by him. Talks a good game. But from where I'm sat we're dreadful. And if Hurst couldn't make a decent (game changing) substitution to save his life then Bignot is even worse.
The fact that we have just lost 2 games by 1-0 to promotion chaser via 25-30 yard free-kicks shouldn't paper over the cracks. Both performances were dreadful. As was the shambles at Crawley.
I think Summerfield and Berrett have been particularly dreadful in recent weeks. You can see why both were relegated out of this league last season. Both tidy enough players but both mentally weak- you wouldn't want them next to you in the trenches.
We need to keep Comley and find a competent partner who will compliment him in central midfield. We need to keep Collins and find a competent partner for him at centre back- it would appear Bignot has lost faith in Gowling for starters. And we need a striker who might actually take some of the burden off Bogle (if we keep him). And he needs to work out wide areas.
And why McKeown is still in goal after his list of recent errors when we have the England under 20 goalkeeper sat on the bench is anyone's guess.
Oh and don't get me started on the undeserved love he is a getting from a large pocket of our support. I think you should earn that sort of adulation. He hasn't even come close yet.
Apart from that I am quite impressed with Bignot.

I don't think Summerfield is a tidy player. Too many loose passes with at least one a game leading to some serious goal threats from the opposition. Hard to tell if Berrett is tidy because I really don't remember noticing him.

What are your thoughts now Golly, some three weeks on? Henderson in goal, new striker who is scoring, new centre back to come into the team and 10 points from 12. Seems to have covered most of your gripes.

Seems to me that Bignot was aware of the limitations and is now trying to rectify the known issues.

Seems to me that Bignot was aware of the limitations and is now trying to rectify the known issues. Seems that way Barmy. We have 6 trialists in the squad for tomorrow's reserve game at Rotherham and looks like we have another striker training with us today. Some saying he has signed but nothing confirmed yet. Surely some must be on their way out the club soon.

I am seriously not convinced by Bignot now. I appreciate we won at Plymouth & Carlisle when both were top, but other than that performances have generally been awful. And his tactics and substitutions have been farcical. Maybe Plymouth & Carlisle took beating us for granted, but we are getting out played by average teams like Crawley, Blackpool & Exeter.
I heard him defending the system after the Exeter no-show. Maybe I am naive, but surely the 3-5-2 system is primarily used to pack the centre of midfield. But he uses that system and everything we try to do is down the flanks where Andrew & Davies/Mills were isolated and generally had to turn back and pass to the centre-backs. End result is we have 3 centre midfielders who spent most of the game watching us pass the ball along the back line before huffing over their heads.
And don't even get me started on transfers. Are we not allowed to sign a player who hasn't played for either Bignot or M.Moore before? Even Gavin Gunning is based in Solihull and spent a good part of the summer training with Solihull Moors before signing for Morton. Chris Clements is about to become the 5th new signing to have played under one of the pair before. I wasn't Paul Hurst's biggest fan, but you can't argue he had expertise knowledge of every player at the level we were playing at and the divisions above and below.
I mean, are we trying to kick on from last season's overdue promotion or not? And is there any need for the revolution midway through a season which was ticking along quite nicely?
The Notts County game is a disaster waiting to happen. Our home form is terrible. Notts County have 1 point from their last 11 matches.

What's the thoughts now then?

What's the thoughts now then? That we should wait and see for a bit before condemning a manager. Even the great Buckley got much stick when he first arrived and he was also someone who brought players in from the Midlands. Saturday against Notts showed some improvement and the new lad Osborne had a hand in creating both goals, something we have been missing for a while. He already has one direct assist and one significant pass in the build up to the second, playing in Bogle whose shot was spilled to Vernon. Summerfield has one assist all season. I also think that we are playing 3-5-2 because we don't have a decent winger at the club and that has to be laid firmly at the door of Hurst. I also believe that we are more likely to get better than worse and we are only 1 point off 7th and a play off spot, despite not really firing yet. 4 wins, a draw and a defeat in the last 6 games tells me we are doing something right.

Ok, I'm going to say it...
Marcus Bignot doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing. The guy is useless. And we've allowed him to hand out long term contract to novice professionals like they are going out of fashion.
We're playing Luton next weekend. Luton away was the best performance I have seen from Town this season by miles. We totally outplayed them for the entire game. 8 of the 13 players who featured that day have either been offloaded, been told they can go or have handed in transfer requests. A good team dismantled in a matter of 2 months since Bignot arrived.
If we play like we did the last 3 matches when Luton come to BP they will thrash us.
And don't even get me started on playing 5-3-2 (and it is 5-3-2 and not 3-5-2 btw).

Just reading the Fishy. Apparently selling Omar Bogle is a "great bit of business". So we've sold our top goalscorer and our leading assist provider, but everything is fine.
Maybe I am being picky, but I would say the opposite. Would we have got any less for him in the summer? But what about poor Omar? How could we force him to stay? Well I would say he made a decision 18 months ago to sign a 3-year contract so he could hardly complain if Town made him see out the first 2 years of it.
Anyway, that fantastic performance earlier in the season at Luton...
McKeown - requested a transfer Davies Gowling - surplus to requirements Collins Andrew Chamber - surplus to requirements Comley Summerfield - surplus to requirements Vose - surplus to requirements Bogle - sold Tuton - sent back to Barnsley
Jackson - surplus to requirements Berrett - surplus to requirements
Only 4 of the 13 who featured are likely to play for the club again.

I'm with Golly. We still haven't got enough points to avoid relegation, and we now have a team many of whom have no experience at this level. We have no proven league goalscorer . There are lots of players stepping up from lower leagues or from other teams subs benches. We have no pace, or at least none the manager seems willing to play. If we end up in a relegation fight we are shafted. We have a manager who cannot speak his own language and seems to me to be thrashing about desperately hoping we'll get a point here and there whilst playing ludicrous formations that don't work.
I am not optimistic.
EDIT and now pissing Henderson has gone back.

Certainly not been the gentle evolution that Biggie talked about on his first day. He's had a couple of very decent results, a couple of rubbish ones, a bit of "meh" which, to be fair, wasn't massively unlike Hurst in the games prior to him leaving. Even my attitude to Bignot is inconsistent- sometimes he makes me laugh, at other times he annoys the shit out of me. The concerning thing is its hard to see where he's going with the squad/tactics/formation at times and at times it looks like the players don't know either. Early days though.. but I think he (and we) will either be brilliant or truly dreadful at the end of this transition.

Henderson recalled under bizarre circumstances. Certainly think there is a lot more to it than an injury at United.
