The FishyFFS seems full of them at the minute. Supporters who wouldn't ever be critical of the club, management and players but don't mind slagging off other fans and blaming them for the ills and misfortunes of GTFC. x player has left because you booed him, the negativity from seat P84 in the Pontoon nearly cost us our wonderful manager and promotion.
DO ONE, you self righteous cunts.

Does anyone know the specifics of what was said to or about Toto? I'm dying to get on my high horse but I'd like a few pointers to get me going. I'm sure someone must have heard or read the abuse, but alas I am not so fortunate, I mean unfortunate as to have seen or heard it. I feel left out.

DO ONE, you self righteous cunts. Some idiots seem to think supporting GTFC extends to not criticising the club, the staff or the players even when it is fully justified. Half of the mongs on the Fishy suck up to Fenty for getting us back in the League when it was 100% his fault that we were out of it in the first place.

It was a load of shite wasn't it? Nobody (out of 1,800) Town fans heard anything abusive. It was all in Toto's head. And he's used it as his reason for joining a club who had an average attendance 468 less than us when they were in League 2 and we were in the National League where half the teams coming bring less than 30 away fans. The real reason he's left is probably a mix between them offering him £30 a week more and that we bombed out his pisshead, drink driving best mate.

That's today's population all over. No thinking, no criticism, no analysing. Just a kind of banal 'positivity cheerleading' which they seem to have imported from America. Bollocks to them.

Anywhere whatever was supposed to have happened, happened. As someone on the Fishy pointed out, when Aswad Thomas was on the receiving end the club got on with it and banned the woman. So maybe the fact it didn't do anything about Halifax was that nothing happened? Wonder what Nathan Arnold and Omar Bogle think about racism amongst Town fans too.

If Toto did leave because of racism, fair enough. It's a disgusting form of abuse and I wouldn't expect anyone to endure it.
You'll note the word 'if'.
I wasn't at Halifax but have seen countless accounts of people who have said they heard no such thing. However I have witnessed numerous racist comments coming from the Town end before so I can imagine it happening.
Reading Toto's comments I didn't think it was just the Halifax incident that he was putting up as his reasoning for leaving. It was the fact that people criticised him, or had the audacity to do so. Now don't get me wrong I find it cringeworthy when I see people tagging him (or other players) on Twitter and saying how crap they were. Yeah, they probably know they had a stinker. You don't need to tell them. But Toto has previously dug people out when they've said he had a bad game on Twitter but not tagged him, so he's actively searched for his name within posts to find out what people are saying about him. If you're that precious, you probably don't want to be on social media in the first place.
If Toto is leaving because a few people have said he had bad games on Twitter, he really needs to grow up. For his physical attributes, his mental strength must be paper thin. That, more than anything else, will hold him back. I didn't get the initial post from Toto where he said this decision was personal and only his family knew about it, then the next day the Telegraph are quoting him blaming the fans. Make your mind up mate, the vast majority of the fans will appreciate it more if you just say 'it's a short career and they offered more money'. Hell, even if he said he felt they were better placed for next season I would respect that more.

I don't think there's any real truth in the racism story. Of course racism exists, but it's not a Grimsby issue. It's a national issue.
I think the real reason is that Hartlepool have definitely offered him a longer contract and possibly a small amount more a week than us. The fact that he's come out with the rubbish he has suggests that even he sees it as at best a sideways step and probably a small step backwards in footballing terms. He's joined a club who haven't had a top half finish in any of the last 9 seasons. He can claim he's looking to kick on all he likes, but I don't buy that and you only have to look at Hartlepool recent history to see that. I do appreciate that he can't really come out and say "I've only joined Hartlepool because they offered me an X year contract and Grimsby offered me a 1 year deal" because that will annoy his new clubs' fans.
But at the same time he shouldn't have tried to justify his move by quoting abuse from Town fans when much of it was either in his head or not abuse at all- we're entitled to say if we think a player has had a poor game or made a crucial mistake. People seem to be getting very thin skinned and labeling fair, well explained opinion as vile abuse. It's no such thing.
