Have you read the one from ginnywings about meeting Fenty? Saw that mate but all a bit pointless and has to be taken with a pinch of salt as he won't say what they spoke about. I'd like to know which of his many posts Fenty took sufficient exception to that he called him in and had someone waiting with copies of them! Incidentally I had a meeting with Fenty in the pisshouse at Braintree and I am happy to report every word Swin ' Hello John' Fenty 'Hello mate hang on a minute I'm busting for a piss' (Fenty has a piss) Swin 'Good luck for today - we've got to do it surely First to score will win it I reckon' Fenty' Hope so cheers' (Shakes hands then goes off to wash them)

It'll take a long time for John to get round to everyone. Why doesn't he just communicate with the fans' representatives and let them relay it. If only there was someone he could meet with regularly and consult. ;-)

If only there was someone he could meet with regularly and consult. ;-) and I misguidedly thought that the Trust might be that 'someone'

Personally I think Ginnywings made a mistake by agreeing to go to BP. He should have either invited Fenty around to his house or to a convenient neutral venue- maybe a pub where the chairs are screwed into the floor?

I did actually think about inviting him round to mine for a cuppa but i don't think he would have accepted, and i didn't ask so will never know.
Swin, you can take it with a pinch of salt if you want but i wasn't called in cap in hand, i was invited and i accepted because i wanted to know about the whole EFL Trophy business. The offending post was deleted i believe, and i don't know if Rob did that unilaterally or at JF's insistence. Again i didn't ask.
He told me how and why the decision had been reached and i accepted his explanation but didn't necessarily agree with it. I told him most fans were against it and that i didn't trust Shaun Harvey as far as i could throw him. He has a foot in the door and will be back is my feeling. We talked about some other stuff but i didn't give too many details as i think it would have just turned into another slanging match with opposing views being aired and that was not the point of my post. I just feel that the last ten years have been all doom and gloom with everybody blaming everybody else and i think it is time we just got on with drawing a line under it all and look to the coming season now we are back in the league. I have been a critic of JF and Hurst but Hurst eventually did the biz, albeit in a haphazard stumbling manner. The post was more or less saying, let's just get the fuck on with being a league club for a while and let the board an JF get on with it. I wanna enjoy watching Town again and the Wembley win gave me that old feeling back.

What was the offending post about ginny? I basically said that he had fucked over the fans again by voting for the EFL allowing U21 teams into the League Trophy. I can't remember the exact wording and the post was removed.

Doesn't seem like an outstandingly offensive or libellous thing to say. It's a view seemingly shared by a lot of people too so it's not like he's dealing with one of a few malcontents.

That's what I thought but he did say that he invites others who don't usually take him up on it, so it seems it doesn't take much to get him sending out invites. I did mention the trust share issue as well in the post, which may have provided the catalyst. That issue was covered by Ian Fleming at the meeting and all seemed feasible to a layman and is in the public domain.

Maybe he's one of those people whose much better communicating one-to-one. All his public pronouncements seem cock-eyed.
