Oh dear oh dear I don't know whats worse the statement or the violence that lead to the statement being issued. Klub staytmuntWhy come out and criticise pubs in Meggies? Why single out football fans for 'special' treatment? I appreciate that the club are trying to be pro-active and I've never really understood the authorities and the medias stance that somehow clubs can control their supporters when they're not actually at the ground. Surely football fans are just the same as everybody else and entitled to do what everybody else does, but somehow because you're going to watch a football match, you should be denied these things. The club seems to think this is OK and then wraps it up in a statement that has been put together by the monkeys with the old typewriter. Stuff like ... well you read it. Still non-league in so many ways.

I tried to read it, but got about two thirds the way through and gave in. Fucking tosh and completely unneeded.
Criticising the pubs in Cleethorpes for allowing customers (sorry, mindless thugs) to have a drink (sorry. fuelling up) is pathetic. And the club seems to be giving itself a pat on the back because nothing heppened at Blundell Park (or within its curtilage- which I believe has been wrongly used and is unsuitable in this context). Well that's just how football violence has been for the past 25 years or so. All away from grounds and pre-organised.
It reads like a Fenty statement, so an educated guess says it's his doing.

Back to the worst of club statements. And wrong-headed too. The lot who came to cause trouble would have done it anyway whether they'd been able to go to the pub or not.

Back to the worst of club statements. And wrong-headed too. The lot who came to cause trouble would have done it anyway whether they'd been able to go to the pub or not. Exactly. The club need to take a look at themselves and ask why the fuck they went for a friendly on a Saturday afternoon in July against a team where there's a recurring theme of trouble over the last however many years. Even a child would have seen the tit-for-tat comings after the Town 'mob' smashed up Sheffield city centre en route to Alfreton a little over a year ago. Complete and utter short-sighted approach all round. They saw the big gate coming from Sheffield and thought of the short term profit, completely ignoring the damage to the local businesses and the PR disaster as we look to move to the FentyDome. Yes, the policing sounds an absolute joke but for the club to take a holier than thou approach is laughable.

Fucking hell they go and do it again with the appointment of a Supporters' Liaison Officer. I though that's what the Trust were. This comes on top of the lack of consultation over the League Trophy (I spit at the term EFL or other such 'branding garbage' - it's not even any good as a bit of marketing, as we all know THE Football League, which it is, is a much more aspirational claim as well as being more 'authentic'). Now we've been promoted isn't it time the gloves were off?

Let's be honest, if we hadn't got promoted in May we would be looking at full blown supporter protests.
This summer has been one disaster after another from the club.
I love my club and I love how sometimes they get it so right, Graham leading the team at at Clee Town was ace. Genuinely ace. But 95% of the time they're fucking useless. Staggers me that they're continually so incompetent. We might be Football League again but off the pitch we're not even bloody Sunday League.

Yep. And we all know the root cause.
I don't think we would have seen mass protests. The call to 'rally round the flag' was too strong. We should've called Fenty's bluff when he blackmailed the Trust into donating this shares to him.
I think the Trust needs to stand up to him now. Fuck the new stadium. Fuck operation 3000. It's not meant to be a branch of the marketing arm.
